This product is Paraben-free! Parabens are chemical preservatives that are commonly used in beauty products to increase shelf life. Through daily use of beauty products, they can accumulate in your body causing hormone imbalance, influence reproductive activity and in some cases can even cause the growth of breast cancer cells. If you are not sure if a product has parabens, methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben are three of the most common paraben ingredients.

This product is Phthalate-free! Phthalates are a family of chemicals that are used as plasticizers, substances added to PVC plastics to make them more flexible and durable. As such, they’re used in a wide variety of plastic substances, from inflatable toys to medical devices. While low exposures to phthalates are harmless, there has been recent research suggesting the potentially negative impacts a high exposure of phthalates can have on our health. This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

This product is Sulfate-free! Sulfates are chemicals used as cleansing agents. They can be found in household cleaners, detergents, shampoo and beauty products. Two most common sulfates are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLEs) and are used to create the lathering effect. These chemicals are often derived from petroleum and can be damaging to certain types of hair, can cause skin irritation, allergies, lead to hair loss and according to some studies can have some carcinogenic ingredients. This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

How to choose the right HiBAR?

For normal hair or oily hair, or to remove product build-up, try Maintain bars. For thicker hair, or dry hair, or if you wash more frequently, try Moisturize bars. For thin, fine or lifeless hair, or to add more body, try Volumize bars. If you have itchy, flaky scalp, then Soothe is perfect for you. And Curl bar works great for curly hair.
How can I tell between shampoo and conditioner HiBAR?

The shampoos are always more pale, and mottled in texture. The conditioners are always a more intense or darker color, and have a very smooth texture.
How do I get HiBAR to lather?

Apply HiBAR shampoo directly to wet hair, massaging into scalp and roots until you feel a good lather.
*Reminder: Lathering is not a measure of how shampoo is working.
How long does one HiBAR last?

It really depends on the length and thickness of your hair and how often you wash. It will last at least as long as a 16oz bottle, usually much longer!
How do I store my HiBAR?

Keep it dry, away from direct water. HiBAR is designed to sit upright, helping it shed any moisture.
What colorings are used for HiBAR?

All of the colorings are natural and approved by COSMOS and ECOCERT.
Can I travel with my HiBAR?

Hell yeah, HiBAR is a great travel companion! The best way to do it is to dry it, wrap it in a face towel, stow away among your clothes and voila, you are good to go!
Does HiBAR have a shelf life?

HiBAR bars are natural, so we recommend that they be used within six months or so, if being stored properly, of course.
