This product is Sulfate-free! Sulfates are chemicals used as cleansing agents. They can be found in household cleaners, detergents, shampoo and beauty products. Two most common sulfates are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLEs) and are used to create the lathering effect. These chemicals are often derived from petroleum and can be damaging to certain types of hair, can cause skin irritation, allergies, lead to hair loss and according to some studies can have some carcinogenic ingredients. This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

What do you mean by natural toothpaste?

For David’s, “natural” toothpaste means that ingredients have been sourced and derived from nature, that the formula is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, colors and sweeteners, free of animal derived ingredients and not tested on animals. They also take sustainable packaging into defining a natural toothpaste.
Does Davids toothpaste prevent/reduce cavities?

The FDA does not allow any natural toothpaste without fluoride to make claims related to preventing or reducing cavities. That being said, cavities are caused by the bacteria in plaque that eat through your enamel and create a cavity. With regular brushing Davids works to reduce plaque and effectively maintain oral health.
Does Davids toothpaste work for sensitive teeth?

The crushed powdered limestone (calcium carbonate) in Davids is believed to plug the tubules (holes) to the nerves, so this also helps alleviate tooth sensitivity. Davids uses high grade micro abrasives that are non-gritty, creating a smooth and creamy paste which is ideal for people with sensitive teeth.

Is Davids safe for children?

Davids is both fluoride free and SLS free and their ingredients are rated "1" by EWG (best rating possible) for ingredient safety, so generally speaking, Davids toothpaste is safe for all ages, including young children, which have a tendency to swallow some of the toothpaste. That being said, we cannot give any direct dental or medical advice, so we would recommend that you have your doctor and/or dentist review for your child's case.
Is Davids toothpaste vegan?

Yes! Davids toothpaste does not contain any ingredients that are derived from animals, or produced by bees. One of the most common ingredients found in toothpaste is glycerin which is most frequently produced from animal fats. Davids uses non-gmo domestic vegetable glycerin which is produced from oils of the soy plant.
