Organic cotton refers to naturally cultivated cotton without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers, pesticides or transgenic technology.

This product has acquired the GOTS Certification. GOTS is a textile production certification that limits the use of toxic bleaches, dyes and other chemical inputs during the production process of textiles. Internationally recognized as the toughest organic textile standard. To obtain the GOTS “organic” label, a product must: Contain at least 95% organic fiber. Not be treated with bleach, formaldehyde or any other toxic substances. Be colored with nontoxic dyes. Be produced in a mill that enforces strict social and environmental standards, treating their employees and the earth with deep respect. GOTS certification means that products meet the very highest standards.

This product is made with recycled plastic. Using recycled plastic for making new products reduces the emission of greenhouse gases, lowers the amount of extracted natural resources, diverts plastic from the environment and reduces waste.

This product is BPA-free which means that it does not use the organic compound Bisphenol A in its construction. BPA is a chemical that is commonly found in plastic products. Studies have shown that exposure to higher levels of BPA could lead to obesity, brain interference, cancer, thyroid dysfunction, reproductive issues and attention deficits.

This product is Phthalate-free! Phthalates are a family of chemicals that are used as plasticizers, substances added to PVC plastics to make them more flexible and durable. As such, they’re used in a wide variety of plastic substances, from inflatable toys to medical devices. While low exposures to phthalates are harmless, there has been recent research suggesting the potentially negative impacts a high exposure of phthalates can have on our health. This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

Low impact dyes do not contain toxic chemicals or mordants. They are also with a higher than average absorption rate. This means less water is required in the rinse process and less dye runs off in the water. Therefore, the dyes have a lower impact on the environment.

This product does not contain any chemicals known to be toxic and is safe to use as directed.
