Instructions:

To insert your XO Flo Cup, you must fold it first. Give different folds a try, making sure to hold the fold tightly during insertion. The cup will fit comfortably inside your vaginal canal and stay in place when a seal is formed between the outside of the cup and the walls of your vagina. You can use water as a natural lubricant. Please do not use any oil based lubricants, as they may degrade the silicone over time.

Care Instructions:

After use, wash your menstrual cup with mild soap and water before reinsertion. At the end of your cycle, wash and dry the menstrual cup before storing it in the drawstring fabric bag provided. Do not store your menstrual cup in a plastic bag or airtight container. At the beginning of your next cycle thoroughly wash your cup before using.
XO Flo Cup has two small holes near the opening of the cup which should be kept clean. Do not use any sharp objects to clean it as it may damage the cup. Instead, submerged the cup in water and squeeze the water through the holes.

How do I choose the right GladRags menstrual cup size?

Most modern menstrual cups come in two sizes: one intended for those who have never given birth and another for those who have. There are also some additional factors to consider.

XO Flo is the larger cup when compared to the Mini and has more of a rounded base. While this cup would be our recommendation for those who have given birth, you may also consider it if you have a heavier flow or prefer “super” absorbency tampons.

XO Flo Mini is smaller than the original XO Flo and has a slight taper to the body shape. This would be our recommendation for those who have never given birth, but the Mini can also suit those with a light to regular flow.
How do I insert GladRags menstrual cup?

To insert your XO Flo Cup, you must fold it first. Give different folds a try, making sure to hold the fold tightly during insertion.The three most popular folds to try when inserting your cup are the C Fold, the Punch Down Fold, and the 7-Fold. The cup will fit comfortably inside your vaginal canal and stay in place when a seal is formed between the outside of the cup and the walls of your vagina. You can use water as a natural lubricant. Please do not use any oil based lubricants, as they may degrade the silicone over time.
How do I remove a menstrual cup?

Before removal, thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water. To remove the cup, you’ll need to break the seal by pinching the base of the cup. If you cannot reach the stem or base, try bearing down with the internal muscles to help shorten the vaginal canal and push the cup downward. If you need to use the stem to reach the base of the cup, then the largest bead, closest to the base, is the best one to use to maneuver the cup.

Wiggling the cup back and forth gently using the largest bead usually allows enough air along the sides to guide the cup down within easier reach. Then you can squeeze the base with two fingers to fully break the seal. Gently pull the cup downward at an angle, holding it carefully to avoid spills. Empty the contents of the cup into the toilet. It is not necessary to remove the cup before urination or bowel movements.
Can I use a menstrual cup if I have an IUD?

Always consult your gynecologist or primary care provider if you have any concerns before using your menstrual cup. Many people with IUDs are able to successfully use a menstrual cup.
Are GladRags menstrual cups comfortable?

Some folks don't feel the cup at all and rave about how comfortable it is. Others find that the stem may bother them or at least they are aware of it. It is important to try the menstrual cup for a few cycles before deciding what is or isn't comfortable.

Sometimes you may think the cup will sit lower inside your body but after a day of hard work you may find that it travels further up in your vaginal canal. If after a few cycles with your cup you find that the stem still sticks out and irritates you, you may trim the stem of your XO Flo. We recommend leaving at least half intact.
Are GladRags menstrual cups safer than tampons?

The vaginal canal is one of the most porous parts of our body, which makes the absorption of any residual chemicals found in tampons a possibility. TSS is caused by normally harmless bacteria found on our skin or in other parts of our body.

If the bacteria get into the bloodstream, the toxins released can cause serious and even fatal disease. It is a rare disease and has been associated with tampon use - especially high-absorbency tampons, as they can dry out the vaginal canal by absorbing the vagina's natural moisture, creating the opportunity for miniscule tears to occur and increasing the chance of TSS. If you have ever had TSS, you should consult your doctor before using any cup or tampon.
Can I use a menstrual cup if I am a virgin?

If you have never had vaginal sex, you may still choose to use a menstrual cup. When you first use a menstrual cup, you will probably stretch the hymen if it is still intact (hymens do not typically "break" but rather stretch), and experience some initial discomfort. You may experience less discomfort if you've already used tampons or other internal methods.
