Plastic is one of the most pressing environmental issues, that is quite obvious these days. It has found its way to the depths of our oceans, to remote forest paths, to the ice of the Arctic, and onto the island beaches where turtles nest.
Two sisters, Lindsey and Alison had a dream of a world with less plastic in it! Lindsey has experienced the consequences of plastic pollution first hand when living and working on Bahamas and seeing it all over the beach, along the road and in the ocean. It was Lindsey that initiated the talk about the change when she realized how much plastic waste she is producing in her bathroom.
The dream of two sisters soon became something amazing, when they founded Plaine Products! Combining their strengths and experience, with Lindsey being the one finding solutions and Alison with small business experience they created a company that breathes sustainability.
It took them a year to research natural products and find the right formula that was in line with their values and was chemical-free.
What is also amazing is that they offer an Eco-friendly service too! You simply make your preferable purchase and when you run out, order a refill bottle and send the empty one back to them.
HOW DO THEY MAKE AN IMPACT?
In a world that is slowly starting to swim in plastic there are some that are determined to fight it. Plaine Products is a company that is all about that. They are on a mission to get all the plastic bottles out of their bathrooms, and yours!
They chose to use aluminum for their bottles since aluminum is able to be completely recycled without any loss in quality at a fraction of the initial production costs and energy requirements. A great way to start the fight!
They offer a free return label for all the empty bottles so they can clean, sterilize and reuse them again and again. All of their products are chemical-free, vegan and cruelty-free.
To ensure their shipping is in line with their values, Plaine partnered up with Eco Enclose, a company that is making their shipping boxes with 95% post-consumer waste and 5% post-industrial waste. Absolutely NO new materials are used in the manufacturing of their shipping cartons.
As mentioned before, Plaine is all about sustainability and they have many certificates to back that up. They are a Certified Women Owned Business and through their 1% for the Planet membership they support many environmental projects by donating 1% of their annual revenue.
Plaine is also a Certified B Corporation which means that they meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. They are also Carbon Neutral, PETA and Leaping Bunny Certified.
