This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

This product is Sulfate-free! Sulfates are chemicals used as cleansing agents. They can be found in household cleaners, detergents, shampoo and beauty products. Two most common sulfates are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLEs) and are used to create the lathering effect. These chemicals are often derived from petroleum and can be damaging to certain types of hair, can cause skin irritation, allergies, lead to hair loss and according to some studies can have some carcinogenic ingredients. This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

How much Meliora laundry powder should I use?

We recommend using ½ tablespoon for HE washers and 1 tablespoon for Standard washers. This is based on a standard size washing machine - placing your load at 12-16 lbs (3.1-4 cubic feet). If you are washing a very dirty load or have a larger machine, more laundry powder will be needed.
Can I use Meliora laundry powder in my HE machine?

Yes. The laundry soap is low-sudsing, so it works well in HE machines. Use only 1/2 scoop - or 1/2 Tablespoon - per load in a HE machine. Toss the Laundry Powder directly in with the clothes. Skip the dispensing drawer - trust us, it'll dissolve just fine.
My laundry powder is not dissolving. What do I do?

Here are some ways to reduce this happening:

1. Add less powder to the washer. You should only need 1 tablespoon for a regular washer, 1/2 for an HE washer.
2. Put the powder in a different location: Switch from "in with the clothes" to "in the dispensing drawer" or vice versa.
3. Use warm(er) water. If you use only cold, especially in a very cold climate, the powder takes longer to dissolve.
4. Don't overload your washer. If you put too many items in the washer, there isn't enough room for sufficient water to dissolve the powder, or enough room for the clothes and powder to move around.
Is Meliora laundry powder safe for cloth diapers and newborns?

Yes, laundry powder is designed for washing clothing for those with sensitive skin, including babies. We don’t recommend using the Laundry Powder on microfiber (plastic) diapers because of the microplastic pollution released when washing this type of fiber.
I have hard water, how will my laundry look like?

Hard water is hard because of higher levels of dissolved minerals like Calcium and Magnesium.

Washing soda (sodium carbonate) in Meliora laundry powder works with a variety of water conditions including the fight against hard water. By softening the water, washing soda acts as a "booster" causing fewer Calcium and Magnesium ions to interact with the soap in the powder; therefore the soap can do its job to clean, rather than get caught up in soap scum and hard water deposits.
